Product Description
The PAG240 has all the same great Triple Sensor functionality you've come to love in its predecessor, but now it's equipped with Self-Charging, Tough Solar Power, employs more functional exterior case design, has a host of additional features such as Sunrise Sunset Data, Countdown Timer and 48-city World Time.
The feature-rich Casio Men's Pathfinder Triple Sensor Watch is loaded with contemporary must-haves, like a titanium band that closes with a double push-button fold-over safety clasp and a triple sensor that provides altimeter, barometer, thermometer, and compass information. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The watch's large digital display is backlit for after-hours use, and world time is quickly available in 48 cities--a handy feature when you're travelling. Other high-tech features include five alarms, a 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer, and the ability to display time in 12- or 24-hour formats. Myriad easy-to-use buttons surround the watch's resin case, providing quick access to its many features. Additionally, this watch boasts a water resistance to 330 feet (100 meters), reliable digital quartz movement, and a mineral crystal.
Casio
With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

The compass feature works. It will show me the right way and works perfectly. The altimeter feature is awesome, it will tell me when I will run out air and will get very tired easily. I is almost like a crystal ball that foresees the future.
The sunrise sunset time feature is great. It tells me how many hours of sunlight in a particular day of the year I will have. Nice feature if you do not want to be stuck in the dark. Please note that the default sunset and sunrise calculation is Japan. You will have to read the manual to find your place in the world and set the watch correctly.
The world time feature will show you where in the world is 5 pm so you get out of work.
The titanium band will ensure I do not have to worry about it for several years. My other plastic and metal solar watches bands always go bad before the watch does. I own several solar watches with broken plastic and metal bands. Just one word of advice, if you are removing the links your self to resize the band, be very careful with a little spacer that holds the pin inside the link. If you loose that, the pin will not stay put and the link will be useless. I learned the hard way. Watch carefully where the tiny cylindrical spacer goes and how it works.
Solar watches are the way to go. My oldest solar watch is twelve years old and still works. I will never buy a battery operated watch, what a waste of money and time.
I spend all day watching my watch. It is interesting observing the atmospheric pressure graph. It shows you the atmospheric fluctuations every two hours and displays it in a tiny graph in the watch. The temperature sensor is not very accurate if you leave the watch in your wrist. You can adjust the reading but you will have to read the big tiny manual to learn all the crystal ball's secrets.
Enjoy it, it is a fun watch to own.
A year and a half later... I still wear this watch almost every single day. I am a firefighter/emt, so you can imagine that I am pretty hard on this watch. The band is showing some wear on the finish from me constantly bumping it on things, but still remains structurally sound. The compass never settled down, but still gives me general directions just fine. One thing I've found that I don't like is that the light doesn't stay on long enough (3 seconds) for me to get a compass reading or count out a pulse at night. I don't like having to push the light button while wearing exam gloves that could be contaminated with God knows what. It would be better with some sort of automatic light feature that could be turned on and off. Also the right side buttons are sometimes too big and get activated and I have to cycle back to the time.
Other than that, I still get a lot of complements on my pathfinder and it hasn't lost any time or have I had to make any other adjustments to it. This thing was built like a tank, I wore it into a fire just yesterday and the thing just keeps on going. I'll probably keep on wearing this thing until I get buried with it, or Casio comes out with one that looks the exact same and has a better lighting feature (holding breath... not). I will never need the compass to be exact, I just need to know which direction I am facing for the most part. All that being said, this IS a tool that I use every single day especially when I'm on shift and it hasn't failed me yet.
The watch itself is feature-rich, but the instructions take time to decipher. Be prepared to have to calibrate the sensors or there will be variance. The solar powered battery works as advertised, but don't expect a full charge unless you leave it in a window in the sun or under a lamp for a few hours. It will maintain current charge levels simply based on available light when worn in regular daytime conditions.
My only complaint (aside from the inadequacy of the instruction manual) is that the volume of the tones used is quite low and doesn't appear to be adjustable, e.g., alarm, timer, hourly chime, etc.... That said, it's not an atomic watch so you'll need to adjust time based on applicable timezone, i.e., it won't set automatically via radio signals. The same watch with this feature costs about $50 or so more at the time I purchased and, unless you travel frequently, may not be worth the extra cost.
Overall, it's an excellent watch that represents great value when you consider style and features relative to cost. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something a little more useful than a standard timepiece.

- Every important info (date, day, month, hours, minutes, seconds) is on the screen. No useless things. Screen is very clear, you can see the time even just by glancing. This is a huge factor for me when buying watches.
- It's incredibly light (thanks to the titanium bracelet) that sometimes you'll forget it's on your wrist.
- Cool looking watch (like a mechanical one). This is a head-turner, got lots of compliments.
- Tough Solar, you won't have to worry about replacing the battery ever. BTW, the battery level on my watch was at HIGH when I got it.
- Excellent functionality for outdoor activities. I have yet to try all the useful functions.
- This watch goes with whatever you wear, be it casual or formal.
- Generous watch band length. I have a small wrist so I took it to a watch repair shop, they adjusted it in 2 minutes and off I went.
- And lastly it's Casio, expect it to last for a decade. Mine is made in Thailand not China.
If you're having second thoughts about buying this watch, I hope I've changed your mind. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I made this watch as my daily driver.
P.S
When ordering, have it delivered to a safe location because the delivery person just drops the package at your front door and leaves so it has a risk of getting stolen. I had mine delivered at home, huge mistake! Luckily I was at home and kept checking the door. The delivery person didn't even knock! Be wary.
Thank you for reading.
